UOIT professor ranked among the top 80 criminologists in the world

Dr. Liqun Cao, professor, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, was recently identified in the Journal of Criminal Justice Education as one of the most productive authors during the first decade of the 21-first century. The list is the result of a study entitled The Most Prolific Sole and Lead Authors in Elite Criminology and Criminal Justice Journals 2000-2009 by Erin A. Orrick and Henriikka Weir.

"When I received my copy of the journal I was pleasantly surprised to see my name listed," said Dr. Cao. "I am very honoured to be included in this article."

The study is based on the amount of published works in eight elite criminology journals - Crime and Delinquency, Criminal Justice and Behaviour, Criminology, the Journal of Criminal Justice, the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology, the Journal of Quantitative Criminology, the Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency and Justice Quarterly. Dr. Cao published more than 30 referred articles during the period, but he was the lead author on five articles in these selected publications.
