UOIT reaches new five-year collective agreement with Faculty Association

Oshawa, ON – The University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) is pleased to announce the ratification of a new collective agreement with the UOIT Faculty Association (UOITFA).

The agreement, retroactive to July 1, 2010, will remain in effect through June 30, 2015. Key provisions include across-the-board salary increases of 1.9 per cent effective July 1, 2012 and July 1, 2013; and a 2.25 per cent increase effective July 1, 2014. In addition to performance-based increases in each of the five years and improvements to the benefits program, the agreement also provides a competitive market adjustment in the fifth year of 2.7 per cent to ensure that UOIT continues to recruit and retain the very best faculty.

UOITFA represents 148 tenured and tenure-track faculty members at the university.
