Ridgebacks salute students’ athletic and academic achievements

Student-athletes, friends, family, coaches, members of the Student Association, faculty and staff were on hand March 26 as the Athletics department honoured UOIT student-athletes for their academic achievements in 2012-2013.

For the second straight year, the UOIT Scholastic Award was presented to Danielle Loney (Forensic Psychology) of the curling team for having the top overall GPA of all female varsity student-athletes. Jordon Woollacott (Criminology, Justice and Policy Studies) of the rowing team received the UOIT Scholastic Award on the men’s side. Both student-athletes are members of the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities.

In total, 37 UOIT student-athletes earned All-Academic awards honouring their outstanding accomplishments in the classroom and in athletics.
