Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

This is a reminder that UOIT will not release your winter term grades if you have any overdue library books or unpaid library fines.

All overdue books must be returned or renewed, and all library fines paid by Friday, April 26 or your grades will not be released.

The library routinely sends out overdue and bill notices. Most notices are sent via email. The sender of these notices is Sirsi, from the email address library@uoit.ca. Text message notification is also available. Please contact any of the Campus Libraries to verify/change your email address information and/or to initiate text message notification.

 

 

If you wish to…

  • Verify current library loans
  • Verify any outstanding fines
  • Renew items (not possible under certain conditions)

…you have three options:

  • Online through Check Your Account (found in Quick Links on the Library homepage)
  • Via phone
  • In-person at any branch of the Campus Libraries

Assessed fines can be paid by cash or cheque at all Campus Libraries locations and also by credit or debit card at the North Oshawa Library. Most borrowed material may be returned at any of the Campus Libraries in designated return locations.
