University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) researcher Dr. Chinmay Jain of the Faculty of Business and Information Technology (FBIT) has co-authored an article recently accepted by The Financial Review, a top finance journal based at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The article entitled Fails-to-Deliver before and after the Implementation of Rule 203 and Rule 204, is co-authored with Dr. Archana Jain of the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. It explores U.S. Securities Exchange Commission’s (SEC) equity-selling regulations that were put in place during the 2008 financial crisis that threatened the collapse of large financial institutions.

Dr. Jain’s research primarily focuses on financial markets and regulations. Previously, his paper on Rule 201, another financial market regulation brought by the U.S. SEC, won the best paper award by The Financial Review.

Dr Jain recently presented a paper on short selling duration and return predictability at the October 2015 U.S. Financial Management Association annual meeting in Orlando, Florida.
