President McTiernan extending term until December

The Board of Governors of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology announces Tim McTiernan, PhD, has accepted its request to remain President and Vice-Chancellor through December 31, 2017. President McTiernan’s original date of departure was Friday, June 30.

Under the direction of the board, the work of the Committee to Recommend the next President is well underway and currently in the consultation stage.

To ensure the university remains on a firm footing and continues to meet the needs of students throughout the transition, President McTiernan has also confirmed to the board he will assist the next President as they transition into their new role. The board thanks President McTiernan for this consideration.
