The University of Ontario Institute of Technology is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Durham Regional Councillor and Oshawa City Councillor Nancy Diamond.

Councillor Diamond’s commitment to Oshawa spanned more than three decades. First elected to Oshawa Council in 1988, she served on City Council between 1988 and 1991. She was elected as Oshawa mayor, serving from 1991 to 2003. In honour of Nancy’s life, the university’s flags will be lowered on the day of her funeral (Monday, February 20).
