Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario to speak at the university on November 7

The University of Ontario Institute of Technology's Faculty of Social Science and Humanities (FSSH) will welcome Brian Beamish to campus on Tuesday, November 7 as a guest speaker in the Legal Studies program's Distinguished Visitors Lecture Series.
Beamish is the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario. He will discuss the importance of, and some of the challenges to, protecting and balancing the right of access to information with privacy rights, with particular attention to public interest considerations.
- When: Tuesday, November 7 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. (followed by a reception with light refreshments)
- Where: 61 Charles Street Building, Room 219.
