Ontario Tech University hosts Fall Convocation ceremonies on October 17
More than 330 degrees and three honorary doctorates to be conferred

Ontario Tech University will celebrate the achievements and milestones of its newest alumni at Fall Convocation on Thursday, October 17.
During two ceremonies at the university’s Regent Theatre in downtown Oshawa, the university will present degrees to its Spring and Summer-semester graduates from across all faculties, including the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. The conferral of more than 330 degrees will expand the university’s alumni network to more than 31,000 members.
Ontario Tech will also confer honorary doctorate degrees to recognize individuals for their outstanding scholarly and public service contributions, and who embody the university’s vision, mission and values. The university will proudly present honorary degrees to:
- Mr. Edmond Vanhaverbeke and Ms. Sylvia Lisk Vanhaverbeke (morning ceremony)
- Dr. Alan Shepard (afternoon ceremony)
