Ontario Tech University maintains its position as a top-choice post-secondary destination, achieving a record-breaking milestone for the 2024-2025 academic year.

As of June 5, the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) reports 2,074 Ontario high school applicants have confirmed offers of admission to Ontario Tech. This is the second consecutive year the university has surpassed 2,000 confirmations, with a 2.8 per cent increase over last year.

These confirmations continue an impressive trend for Ontario Tech over the past four recruitment cycles, with high school confirmations increasing by more than 44 per cent since 2020.

Increase in confirmations echoes Ontario Tech’s application numbers from January 2024

The strong growth in confirmation numbers mirrors applications growth as well. OUAC reports Ontario Tech received more than 13,800 applications from across the province for 2024-2025, an 8.5 per cent increase over last year. This represents the third-highest year-over-year percentage increase in the provincial university system.

Some of the most popular programs among incoming students this year include: Engineering, Health Sciences, Business Computer Science.
