June 16, 2025

Ontario Tech University continues its upward momentum as a top choice for students seeking future-focused learning and career-connected preparation. The university has once again broken its record for confirmed first-year students, a clear sign of its growing reputation, student-first approach and momentum as a leader in next-generation education.
As of June 5, more than 2,200 Ontario high school applicants have already confirmed their offers to attend Ontario Tech for the 2025-2026 academic year, a 9.3 per cent increase over last year, surpassing the provincial average of 6.4 per cent. This marks the third consecutive year with more than 2,000 domestic confirmations, representing an impressive 57.4 per cent increase since 2020.
In addition to strong Ontario applications, increased interest from international, transfer, out-of-province and mature students has brought the university’s total September intake to just above 3,900 new students, highlighting the growing demand for, and recognition of, our programs.
“Students are choosing Ontario Tech for our innovative, future-focused approach and personalized student experience,” says Dr. Joe Stokes, University Registrar and Assistant Vice-President, International. “Our expanding network of industry partnerships enhances learning by opening doors to co-ops, internships, and research opportunities, many starting as early as first year. In fact, many of our programs have a direct-entry co-op option, enabling students to gain paid, relevant work experience as an integral part of their degree from day one. Together, these elements create a powerful pathway from classroom to career.”
