University of Ontario Institute of Technology and Durham College to host electoral debates for Whitby-Oshawa and Oshawa ridings

OSHAWA, Ont. - Electoral candidates in the Whitby-Oshawa and Oshawa ridings will have a chance to debate key political issues during two separate debates on Thursday, January 12. Hosted by the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and Durham College, the debates will be televised on Rogers Television in Durham Region. Debates are brought to you by Rogers Television, Metroland Durham Region Media Group and Durham Radio Inc. Tom Calow, host of Politically Speaking on Rogers Television, will moderate the debates and opening remarks will be delivered by Dr. Gary Polonsky, president of Durham College and UOIT.
Whitby-Oshawa riding candidates include Jim Flaherty (Conservative), Ajay Krishnan (Green Party), Judi Longfield (Liberal, incumbent), and Maret Sadem-Thompson (NDP).
Oshawa riding candidates include Colin Carrie (Conservative, incumbent), Adam Jobse (Green Party), Louise Parkes (Liberal), and Sid Ryan (NDP).
