UOIT unveils new varsity coaches and team identity

The province's fastest-growing university accepted into Ontario University Athletics

OSHAWA, Ont. - With major news that Ontario's fastest-growing university has been accepted into Ontario University Athletics, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) invites you to a special ceremony to unveil the teams' new identity and the top-ranked varsity coaches who will be joining the university.

Joined by Canadian athletes, more than 400 students, faculty and community members are expected to witness history in the making. UOIT Athletic Director Ken Babcock will emcee the ceremony, and OUA President David Dubois will officially welcome the university to its membership.

A free skate will take place between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the new arena and the first 300 people will receive a free UOIT toque or scarf.


Who: Canadian Olympic gold medal swimmer Ann Ottenbrite will help unveil UOIT's varsity identity.

When: Monday, February 6, 2006 | noon to 1:30 p.m.
