UOIT to host bridge building contest in celebration of National Engineering Week

OSHAWA, Ont. - Join students and faculty from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology's (UOIT) Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science and The Lake Ontario Chapter of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as they celebrate the end of National Engineering Week by competing in a bridge building contest on Friday, March 3.
Working with 150 popsicle sticks, glue and a pair of gloves, four teams comprised of some of the brightest minds in engineering at UOIT will put their heads together to see who can construct the strongest popsicle stick bridge in less than four hours.
When:
Friday, March 3, 2006
Contest begins at 9 a.m. and closes at 1 p.m.
Bridge testing begins at 3 p.m.
Prize ceremony begins at 4 p.m.
