UOIT wins NewShoes Challenge

Business students take home top prize from Pearson Education Canada
OSHAWA, Ont. -Students from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) will be awarded first place in the Pearson Education Canada NewShoes Challenge at an awards luncheon being held on campus on Tuesday, April 4.
UOIT President Dr. Gary Polonsky and Dr. Richard Marceau, provost of UOIT will be on hand as Pearson Education Canada presents business students from the Faculty of Business and Information Technology with a plaque and $1000 bursary for winning the challenge.
The NewShoes Challenge is a national online competition in which students enrolled at a Canadian university or college participate in a simulation game that requires them to use introductory marketing concepts to design and market a new line of shoes over a period of approximately two weeks. The team with the highest cumulative net profit and overall performance at the end of that time is declared the winner.
