UOIT, GM, Ontario and federal governments to unveil plans for GM of Canada Automotive Centre of Excellence

OSHAWA, Ont. - Officials from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), General Motors of Canada, and the Ontario and federal governments will be at UOIT to announce details and design elements of the highly anticipated General Motors of Canada Automotive Centre of Excellence, a project that marks the beginning of a new advanced automotive technology cluster.

Under construction at UOIT's Oshawa campus, the multimillion-dollar, state-of-the-art centre will bring together students, faculty, automotive engineers, researchers, suppliers and purchasers, helping to greatly enhance Canadian automotive engineering competitiveness.
