Ministers John Wilkinson and John Gerretsen announce $5 million for fuelling alternative energy research

OSHAWA, ON. - UOIT welcomed more than 100 guests as Minister of Research and Innovation John Wilkinson, and Minister of the Environment John Gerretsen announced the provincial government's investment of more than $5 million to support innovative research projects in the cleantech sector, an area of the economy that brings together environmental solutions and economic potential.

Ministers Gerretsen and Wilkinson were joined by UOIT President Dr. Ronald Bordessa and Dr. Greg Naterer, Canada Research Chair, professor and director of Research, Graduate Studies and Development at UOIT. Dr. Naterer's research in hydrogen-based energy technologies is one of two projects that will receive funding as part of this initiative.
