UOIT thanks groups and individuals during National Volunteer Week
April 24, 2013
Volunteers are a vital part of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology’s (UOIT) community, assisting in various roles across all faculties, departments and services. Volunteer roles range from governance and advisory capacities to those who offer a few hours of their own time to assist with on-campus special events or varsity sports.
"Thank you for investing your time with us," said UOIT President Tim McTiernan, PhD. "Your volunteer efforts help us achieve excellence in all that we do."
There’s no question how much UOIT relies on individuals who choose to invest their time and talents. The UOIT community is a microcosm of Canada’s greater economic model, which nationally benefits from the more than 13.3 million volunteers who contribute to our social and economic well-being.
Many of the programs offered at UOIT champion advocacy efforts and encourage students to get involved in social, health and environmental issues for which they are passionate. Through the collective efforts of UOIT Board of Governors, students, faculty, staff and friends, UOIT continues to build bridges to the community and make the world a better place.
