OSHAWA, ONTARIO – Ontario Tech University is breaking ground on The Ridge, a new on-campus residence that will welcome students starting in Fall 2027. This vital campus addition reflects the university’s continued growth and commitment to enhancing campus life. With its modern design, the residence will create spaces that support learning and academic-life balance with the convenience of being close to classes and labs, while helping to address the need for student housing in the region.

To be constructed just north of the Campus Ice Centre along a natural water course feature, the residence will open in stages: 450 beds in the first phase, with long-term plans to accommodate about 2,000 students. This project advances Ontario Tech’s campus expansion plans to meet today’s needs while preparing for the future, and will help support the university’s growth target of 20,000 learners.

Ontario Tech is proud to be a long-term partner in the new residence, leasing university land to enable development. A consortium led by Campus Suites and Woodbourne will complete the project, with Campus Living Centres managing operations.
