The University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) highlights National Seniors Day, as recognized by the Government of Canada, which celebrates senior citizens for the valuable contributions they have made to Canadian communities, workplaces and society.

“National Seniors Day is an opportunity for the faculty, staff and students at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology to show their appreciation for the senior members of our families and communities who have helped shape Canada,” said Dr. Michael Owen, UOIT Vice-President, Research, Innovation and International. “The university is committed to innovative research that enhances the capacities of local, national and global communities to thrive and grow in ways that are healthy and sustainable.”

In celebration of National Seniors Day, here are some of UOIT’s research projects that focus on matters related to gerontology, geriatric research and the roles of people who serve seniors.
