Students from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology’s Faculty of Energy Systems and Nuclear Science (FESNS) rubbed shoulders with leaders of Canada’s nuclear sector in February.

The contingent of FESNS undergraduate and graduate students attended the Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA) Conference and Trade Show in Ottawa, Ontario. The CNA conference is the country’s premier nuclear event and is renowned for its top-tier selection of speakers. The conference attracts more than 700 delegates from the global nuclear energy community, including senior industry leaders, government officials, researchers, politicians and media.

The UOIT students took in panel discussions and keynotes featuring provincial ministers, alternative energy advocates and international authorities on climate change. The conference also provided students with a key glimpse at career paths and a chance to speak with potential future employers.
