New international opportunities for UOIT students and researchers
University signs MOU with India’s Chandigarh University

New doors will soon open to expanded global hands-on learning opportunities for students at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT).
On April 4, the university signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Chandigarh University (CU), a private university in northwestern India whose research expertise and industry partnerships complement those of UOIT.
Areas for co-operation include:
- Two-way student mobility, with the possibility of sending UOIT students to undertake internships with CU corporate partners such as Google, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Microsoft, and Wipro.
- Potential for collaborative degree programs, joint supervision of graduate students, and placement of UOIT students with companies in Greater Mohali, Punjab in India.
- Exploration of short-term faculty mobility opportunities to CU.
- Research and development projects, knowledge sharing and co-publishing.

- Faculty of Business and Information Technology
- Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science
- Faculty of Health Sciences
- Faculty of Science
With more than 20,000 students in nearly 70 undergraduate and graduate programs, CU’s strengths include: animation and multimedia (for game development), education and teacher training, legal studies, media studies, business, biotechnology, forensic science and toxicology, medical laboratory sciences and engineering. CU’s research expertise includes cloud-based applications, big data analytics, information security and business analytics.
