Volunteers strengthen the UOIT community

Volunteers have a profound and far-reaching impact

Volunteers are the roots of strong communities. Through their simple act of philanthropy, volunteers have a profound and far-reaching impact, allowing communities to flourish.

In celebration of National Volunteer Week from April 10 to 16, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) recognizes its volunteers for their contributions to the growth and success of the university.

“Volunteers truly strengthen our community,” said Susan McGovern, Vice-President, External Relations and Advancement. “Thank you for helping us create a supportive environment where our students can develop into the innovators, professionals, entrepreneurs and citizen leaders of tomorrow.”

From governance and advisory positions, to helping with on-campus special events and varsity sports, volunteers contribute to every faculty, department and service. Many of the programs offered at the university champion advocacy efforts and encourage students to get involved in social, health and environmental issues for which they are passionate.
