Graduate research in the spotlight March 20 at Three Minute Thesis finals
March 4, 2019
The graduate student research process at any university can be isolating at times. Often students work within a very small research group or among colleagues with a similar knowledge base. But on Tuesday, March 19 and Wednesday, March 20, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology will put the spotlight on graduate student research as candidates for master’s degrees and PhDs publicly share their discoveries during the annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition.
3MT® is a university-wide competition for graduate students to summarize the key points of their research and its potential impacts to a general audience–in just 180 seconds. The university’s School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies offers more than 30 distinct programs.
