NSERC awards UOIT researchers $1.7 million

Fourteen researchers at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) were recently awarded Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Discovery Grants, which have a combined total of $1.7 million over the next five years.

Matt Milovick receives CMA Creative Leadership Award

Congratulations to Matt Milovick, vice-president, Operations and Strategic Development and interim chief financial officer, who received the Ontario Certified Management Accountants 2011 Creative Leadership Award for the instrumental role he had in the development of UOIT's downtown Oshawa location.

Oil and gas executive donates $1.5 million to Ontario Tech University

Ontario Tech University will accelerate its alternative fuel research efforts thanks to a $1.5-million donation from Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sure Energy Inc. Jeffrey Boyce, The donation, the largest gift Ontario Tech University has received from an individual, will fund the Jeffrey S. Boyce research chair in Natural Gas (NG) as an Alternative Transportation Fuel.

UOIT researcher receives Xerox Foundation grant

The University of Ontario Institute of Technology's (UOIT) Faculty of Science is announcing a research grant awarded by Xerox Corporation to Dr. Faisal Qureshi, assistant professor, Computer Science.

Dr. Tim McTiernan will be the third president and vice-chancellor of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), effective July 1, 2011.

UOIT's enrolment confirmation increase highest in GTA

Statistics recently released by the Ontario Application Centre (OUAC) confirm that more students than ever are choosing the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) for their post-secondary studies. Year-over-year percentage increases show that UOIT is the leading GTA university for overall enrolment confirmations and first in the province for first-choice confirmations.
