Ontario residents will get a chance to enjoy a major celestial treat on the evening of Sunday, September 27. If the weather is clear, there will be an opportunity to see a rare combination of a so-called ‘supermoon’ and a total lunar eclipse. University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) Astrophysicist Dr. Rupinder Brar says this is a special event you should try to observe.

Two UOIT researchers exploring the nature of empathic concern

Empathy is an essential social process that allows people to understand and sympathize with another person’s thoughts and feelings. What factors influence how empathic people will feel towards others? Is it possible to help people feel more empathic towards their fellow humans?

The 2015 Student Research Showcase, held on August 20, offered a glimpse into the world of student research at the university, providing an opportunity for undergraduate students to showcase the projects they have worked on under the supervision of faculty members throughout the year.

A researcher and three graduate students from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) had a chance to share and explore ideas related to nuclear science at a workshop that took place September 2 to 4 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
